The Privilege is Mine!

When I first started this business, one of my top priorities was to find a way to give back to my community. I started my college career with a Public Administration degree - as an intern for Heart of Florida United Way. We hosted Fundraisers, drafted grant proposals, contacted and collected from potential donors. I know how vital Philanthropy is to a society in need of services. I double majored in Sociology which only served to remind me how important healthy communities really are. I always wanted my business to be successful enough to give something back to the community that I live in. That isn't always easy especially when you are just starting out.

....but, as my Higher Power would have it ...the opportunity presented itself through a not so chance meeting at the local grocery with artist Ansie Holman of Waynesville, NC. Ansie is not only a phenomenal potter but she is also a volunteer for the Non-profit organization REACH of Haywood County. For those of you who don't know about REACH -" REACH of Haywood County, Inc. serves survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through advocacy, community outreach and prevention education to empower individuals to live a self-sufficient life free of violence". Here is the latest statistical census posted for North Carolina. I can't think of a better or more meaningful cause than to help prevent violence against women and children or anyone for that matter.

The love and resources that these folks share with our community not only serve a greater need, they touch the lives and hearts of those they serve to restore hope. I feel privileged to share with them in any capacity, and I am grateful for the opportunity to participate. Be sure to visit their website. Attend the Spring Fashion Show to help support this amazing organization and those in our community.
